Four Local Businesses Worth Knowing Around Lake Oconee

Four Local Businesses Worth Knowing Around Lake Oconee

One of the things I love most about living at Lake Oconee is watching people in our community recognize a need and create something meaningful to meet it. A new restaurant opens, a family brings a wellness service closer to home, or a local business owner creates a shop filled with things we previously had to leave the lake to find.

The four businesses I am sharing today are all locally owned by people who live in our area. They are not simply names I found online. I know these owners, shop in their stores, use their services, and have enjoyed gathering around their tables.

If you are considering a move to Lake Oconee, these everyday places matter. The home may be what first brings you here, but the people you meet and the businesses you learn to rely on are what begin to make the community feel like home.

The Crunchy Shop: A Family Favorite

The Crunchy Shop is somewhere my daughters and I truly love to shop. It is a family run apothecary, refillery, and natural wellness store where we always seem to discover something useful.

We purchase our natural laundry detergent there, along with face wash, seasonings, spices, and other products for our homes. With cold season approaching, the shop also carries aromatherapy oils and a wide selection of herbs, teas, and natural wellness products.

What I especially appreciate is the personal service. If there is something you are looking for and they do not have it in the store, let them know. They are happy to see whether they can order it for you. That willingness to listen to customers is one of the things that makes shopping locally feel so different.

The Crunchy Shop is also a wonderful place to find a hostess, birthday, or thank you gift. You can browse thoughtful products, locally made items, and gifts that feel more personal than something picked up at a large store. It has quickly become one of those local places I enjoy sharing with friends, family, and people who are new to the area.

Plan your visit: The Crunchy Shop at 921 Harmony Road, Eatonton, Georgia.

InMotion Wellness Studio: A Business Created From Personal Experience

I have the privilege of knowing the family behind InMotion Wellness Studio Lake Oconee, and they are genuinely sweet, kind people.

The idea to bring InMotion to Lake Oconee grew from a personal experience with physical therapy, recovery, and the need for continued support afterward. They recognized that assisted stretching and personalized mobility services were something our community did not yet have nearby. They researched the concept carefully and brought the service to the lake because they believed it could help fill that gap.

InMotion offers assisted stretching and personalized movement sessions designed around each client’s individual mobility needs. For a community filled with golfers, boaters, walkers, pickleball players, active adults, and grandparents who want to keep up with visiting family, that kind of support can be a valuable addition.

Their story is a wonderful example of how many small businesses begin at Lake Oconee. Someone experiences a need personally, realizes that neighbors may be experiencing it too, and decides to create the resource locally. These owners are not strangers arriving with an impersonal concept. They are local residents and neighbors who wanted to bring something useful to the community they call home.

Plan your visit: InMotion Wellness Studio Lake Oconee at 1124 Lake Oconee Parkway, Suite 130, Eatonton, Georgia.

Santoro’s Italian Kitchen: A New Place to Gather

Santoro’s Italian Kitchen opened in May, and I had the privilege of attending the grand opening with friends. To say the food was amazing would be an understatement.

We enjoyed the pastas, pizzas, and so many wonderful dishes together. I have returned multiple times since the grand opening, and it has already become one of the places I am happy to recommend.

Santoro’s is another family run business that takes pride in its food, ingredients, and quality. The restaurant brings a New York style Italian American dining experience to Lake Oconee, with recipes rooted in family tradition. That warmth comes through in the idea of gathering around a table and enjoying a meal with the people you love.

For someone considering a full time move, local dining is about more than having somewhere to go for a special occasion. People want to know where they can meet friends for lunch, take their adult children when they visit, celebrate a birthday, or become a familiar face. Santoro’s gives us another welcoming place to do exactly that.

It has quickly become one of the hottest reservations in town, so I recommend making a reservation before you go. Walk ins are welcome, but planning ahead is a good idea, particularly during busy evenings.

Plan your visit: Santoro’s Italian Kitchen at 1061 Village Park Drive, Greensboro, Georgia. Make a reservation.

Brilliance by Design: Helping a House Feel Like Home

Brilliance by Design, a Tonya Miller company, opened August 10 at 1023 Lake Oconee Parkway in Eatonton. Tonya is an amazing local business owner, builder, and interior designer who has spent years helping people create beautiful homes.

The idea behind the shop developed naturally. Clients admired the pieces Tonya selected for their homes and repeatedly asked where they could find them. She saw the need and followed through by creating a local destination where people can shop for curated home accessories, entertaining pieces, and gifts at a variety of price points.

Brilliance by Design has become a place I love to visit when I am choosing a housewarming or closing gift for a client. I can select something beautiful here at Lake Oconee that helps a buyer begin decorating and making a new house feel personal from the very beginning. It is also a wonderful place to find that final piece for a room in your own home.

Brilliance by Design connects naturally to something I often discuss with buyers. Finding the house is only the beginning. The personal pieces, gathering spaces, and finishing touches are what help that house become your home. That is especially meaningful at Lake Oconee, where many people are creating a place for children, grandchildren, and friends to gather during the next chapter of their lives. A locally chosen closing gift can become one of the first pieces in that new story.

Plan your visit: Brilliance by Design at 1023 Lake Oconee Parkway, Eatonton, Georgia. Follow Tonya Miller on Instagram for updates from the shop.

Local People Meeting Local Needs

What connects these four businesses is not simply that they are new. Each was created by local people who saw something our community needed and chose to do something about it.

The Crunchy Shop gives families access to natural products, personal service, and items they previously may have ordered online or driven elsewhere to find. InMotion supports the active lifestyle so many residents want to continue enjoying. Santoro’s gives families and friends another table around which to gather. Brilliance by Design helps turn a house into a home filled with personal details.

I am thankful these owners followed through on their ideas and invested in the Lake Oconee community. Their businesses give us new places to shop, gather, care for ourselves, and connect with one another.

The homes may be what first bring people to Lake Oconee, but it is often the everyday things that matter most: the businesses you rely on, the owners who remember you, the restaurants you return to, and the people you meet along the way. Those are the things that eventually make it feel like home.

If you are considering a move to Lake Oconee, thinking about a homesite, or wondering what a different corner of the lake might offer for your next chapter, I would be happy to help.
